Durga Rane
Hi, I'm Durga, a 3rd year medic, and I would love to be your next secretary!
Being part of MSF is a chance to be part of something bigger — a community that values compassion, action, and global health. Friends of MSF raises awareness of inequalities while providing a platform to learn about medical humanitarian work and influence positive change through fundraising, which is why I would like to be a part of the society committee and make a meaningful contribution to the organisation’s mission.
In my time as a care assistant during my gap year, organisation and time management skills were crucial in managing patient records, coordinating care schedules, and communicating with the team in a timely manner. As Secretary, this would translate into me keeping accurate meeting minutes, handling sensitive data, planning ahead for society events, and ensuring smooth administrative processes – tasks that I think I’m already prepared to handle well.
I believe communication between members, the committee, and other collaborators/organisations is crucial. If elected, I would introduce a shared calendar to help the committee work cohesively, and maintain transparency with members through regular newsletters. I also aim to organize collaborative fundraisers with different societies at Imperial, as well as other Friends of MSF university societies.
I believe my skills and commitment to the society’s values make me the ideal candidate to work as part of a team, proactively introducing positive changes that contribute to FoMSF’s growth. I would really appreciate your vote! Thank you :)
