Hey ABAcomm!

As a short introduction, I'm Cihan—a current first year rep, hoping for a promotion (to publicity officer). I'm Thai-Chinese/Turkish and am a huge fan of bodybuilding. I grew up in Thailand but spent the last 4 years in Newcastle before ending up in London and ended up pretty whitewashed icl 😅. Thankfully, in ABACUS, every other person comes from a similar background, so fitting in was effortless. Because of how welcoming the society was and how much time I spent enjoying all the events, I want to be able to promote ABACUS to even wider audiences and especially the people who were in my situation.

Beyond just enthusiasm, I have experience in making things seen. I’ve helped promote and organize networking events for refugees and also led a group of content creators for a non-profit organization—where we relied heavily on social media to drive donations. Whether it’s designing eye-catching posts, hyping up events, or making sure every photo taken is one worth remembering. I know what makes a night out good—the right people, the right vibes, and of course, the right photos to prove it all happened.

With ABACUS growing every year, it's important that we continue to build a strong community. As Publicity Officer, I’d focus on ensuring that everyone feels part of the experience. Whether you're here for the club nights, the socials, or just the people, I'll make sure ABACUS stays the society you don’t want to miss out on.
