Dear members of the Consultancy Society,
I am Ong Joo Hann, a second-year Biotechnology student running for Corporate Relations VP. In an industry as competitive as consulting, having the right connections can make the difference between rejection and an offer. I aim to bridge the gap between members and consulting firms, helping members gain exposure, knowledge, and even possible referrals that improve their chances of landing an offer.
My experience as a student ambassador has equipped me with key skills like communication, event organisation, and strategic planning—essential for liaising with external firms. Additionally, I am an active member of the society, frequently attending insight sessions, networking events, and case study club meetings to strengthen my interpersonal skills.
As Corporate Relations VP, I aim to:
- Strengthen and expand sponsorships.
- Establish partnerships with McKinsey, Bain, and BCG, emphasising out talent pipeline and leveraging connections (e.g. Business School employer relations manager).
- Research sponsorship packages and negotiate upgrades from our bronze-tier sponsors, offering enhanced engagement opportunities through events.
- Provide members with more networking and career opportunities.
- Host events that cater to YOUR interests.
- Tailor events to members’ interests based on past attendance numbers and feedback.
- Work closely with Events VP to attract more members to society events, elevating the society’s reputation in the eyes of sponsors.
- Invite professionals to collaborate with the Case Study Club.
- Work closely with Case Study Club VP to invite external speakers.
- Provide members with expert insights on recruitment expectations and case structuring to improve their preparation.
