Sawsan Abdi

Hi everyone!! 🧶🩵 I'm Sawsan, a first-year Chemistry student, and I'm honoured to be running for the role of Secretary :) As someone who had no knowledge of how to crochet at the beginning of this year, and some may say I was terrible at the start, I'm so happy to say I found such a safe, kind community at KnitSock, and I truly look forward to the incredibly well organised events that have happened this year. I am someone dedicated to staying on top of my studies while balancing hobbies like reading on my Kindle and running, and have also been gaining valuable experience in society logistics such as taking minutes, making Canva posters and setting up for events through my role as a Freshers' Representative for the ISOC. My strong organisational skills will allow me to maintain the high calibre of KnitSock, and I will do my best to contribute to its continued success!"

As a Secretary, I aim to:

- Help coordinate any logistics such as room bookings, communication with the union and keeping everyone on the committee updated.

- Take clear minutes during any committee meetings, and keep people on the Whatsapp group chat updated on any events and changes in logistical things such as room location.

- Be a familiar face in helping others like me to learn a new hobby and hopefully enjoy it!
