Hi there :) I’m Alexa, a third year Chemical Engineering student from Malaysia. I love reading (of course) and my favourite genres are contemporary fiction, historical fiction and romance 📚 My favourite book is Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, but if you were to ask what’s my guilty pleasure, it’s Fourth Wing - it's terrible but I eat it up anyway.
I've been Treasurer for almost two years, managing the club's finances to benefit you guys, and I've taken on more responsibility this year by planning the Christmas Dinner and Quiz Night. I want the best for the club and aim to do so as Chair. Book Club is an amazing community full of the loveliest people: I plan to continue the club's success by fostering an inclusive and welcoming community, providing heavier subsidies on books, introducing more socials and having more snacks at our meetings (lol).
I’m a friendly and outgoing person (feel free to yap to me about literally anything), and I have strong leadership and teamwork skills from years of experience being involved in student committees, such as the Imperial Consulting Society. Despite suffering through my course, I'm still able to stay on top of both my extracurriculars and academics. Book Club is a big part of my uni life and I want to make it a part of yours too!
