Christa Ugorji

Hi, my name is Christa, and I’m running for 2nd MD because I love Jesus and I love singing!

Although I’ve only recently joined gospel choir, I’ve learned so much from the amazing members and exec, and I want to give back. I’ve always valued serving my community, and I want future members to feel as welcomed, loved, and inspired in their faith as I have.

As a fresher, I took a step back from leadership, which felt odd since I was WAYYY too active in sixth form-running gospel choir, ACS, head girl, senior prefect and way more! I think this year the lack of responsibility made me begin to become complacent, but recently, God has been calling me to step up and serve again. I know this role will be a challenge, but the incredible support in this community has encouraged me to grow.

Initially, I was nervous to apply, but I’m reminded that fear doesn’t come from the Lord. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7).

I hope to bring more choreography 😏 more vibes (as always!), and possibly explore university gospel choir competitions. Most importantly, I want to be part of a society that magnifies the Lord and uplifts its members.
