Hi! I’m Zoe, a third-year Chemical Engineering student, and I’m thrilled to be running for Vice President. Having been part of this society for the past three years—currently as your Sponsorship Manager—I’ve seen firsthand the impact of a strong, supportive network in a male-dominated field. Women in SET has been instrumental in my personal and professional growth, and I’m eager to continue empowering and connecting ambitious women across Imperial and beyond.
In my current role, I have:
- Supported the organisation for the Annual Industry Networking Event – one of our society’s flagship events, bringing together professionals, sponsors, and students for invaluable career connections (and, of course, great food!)
- Organised Macquarie Afternoon Tea, which resulted in 25% of attendees securing a place in their Spring Insight Program—a success I aim to replicate across more firms and industries to help our members break into competitive roles.
As Vice President, I will:
- Broaden career-focused events and workshops – Expanding our Finance, Consulting, Tech, Engineering panels to help members explore different industries and gain insights into spring and summer internship applications.
- Strengthen industry partnerships – Securing exclusive networking events, office visits, and skills-based workshops with leading firms to connect our members with top recruiters and professionals.
- Leverage my network – Building on my relationships with Imperial alumni, Imperial Business School, and women-focused organizations (eg GAIN) to host fireside chats, mentorship initiatives, and cross-society events for even greater career support.
I would love your support—let’s make this an incredible year together!
Thank you!
