Charlotte Jeon
Dear Women in SET Society Members,
Hello! My name is Charlotte, a second-year Biochemistry student running to be your next Vice President.
As women in STEM, we all recognise the importance of a strong, supportive community that empowers us to grow both professionally and personally. Coming from diverse degree backgrounds, I also understand that we have different interests and career goals. I want to expand our society to cater for all our interests and make a space where we can connect, gain valuable insights, and empower each other.
With my background as House Captain and Model United Nations Ambassador, I have experience overseeing numerous teams, organising large-scale events, and ensuring smooth collaboration within a committee. These skills will allow me to effectively support our society, particularly in leading event planning and scheduling to create more opportunities for our members.
As Vice President, I will:
- Oversee events to ensure they are well-organised, engaging, and accessible to all members
- Organise and enhance flagship events such as the International Women’s Day Dinner and the Annual Industry Networking Event
- Introduce more networking events such as panel discussions, fireside and coffee chats, as well as workshops aligned with application seasons
- Collaborate with other societies to broaden opportunities and diversify our events
- Expand outreach workshops to encourage more young girls to pursue STEM degrees
I believe in the power of women working together for a common goal and am committed to making our society a more inclusive and inspiring space.
Thank you for your time! :)
