Hello everyone! My name is Arjun and I am running for Vice President of BioSoc.
Without any further ado, I'm excited to show you what the year ahead would have in store if I'm elected as BioSoc Vice President.
My Ideas:
- BioHACKS - who said Biology isn't hands-on? Molecular Docking Workshops, Access to Wet-Labs (similar to the FONS-MAD challenge, hackspace, enterprise labs), DNA Origami & Modelling opportunities and more await🧬🧬
- Events - A Life Sciences Sports Tournament, more trips to Kew Gardens, Climbing Events,✨Karaoke Nights ✨, Collaborations with other societies, departments and universities! Our very own biosoc pubcrawl!
- Improve the ePortfolio❗❗❗
- Liase with the RCSU to include Biology in the Science Challenge
- Advocate for better feedback loops for coursework and assessments
- Organize Career Opportunities & Networking Events: more alumni talks/mentoring opportunities, insights into pivoting into finance/law/marketing (for those interested)
My Previous Leadership Experience:
- Assistant Director @ Harvard MUN (only highschooler chosen into the committee)
- Founder of the Science Club at my Sixth Form (published the school's first research journal)
- Head of 7 chapter w/ Freebiolabs (led teams across 7 cities to combat lab access inequities)
Thank you for going through my manifesto, here's a taco for your patience 🌮! It would be an honour to represent you as BioSoc Vice President.✌️
PS: If you vote for me, Pluto will write us a BioSoc theme song.
