Artsoc: Vice-President

Hello everyone!

I’m Foong Yee, a second-year Chemistry student. You may have seen me at shows this year or as your Concert Officer, managing polls which I then turn into your termly line-ups! Being part of the committee has been a fantastic experience—from Fresher’s Fair until now, I’ve been amazed by the growing enthusiasm for musicals and plays.

If elected as Vice-President, I would focus on:

1. Better Access to Tickets
This year, ticket demand was overwhelming, and despite increasing the number available, many still missed out. To improve this, I plan to:

Introduce tiered pricing to offer more options
Enhance interest polls to better match demand

2. A More Diverse Lineup
We’ve taken steps to broaden our selection by adding ballets, circus performances, and more plays. However, there’s still more to explore. Next year, I aim to:

Involve members more directly in the selection
Organise behind-the-scenes theatre tours and related events

3. More Engaging Socials
ArtSoc is about more than just watching performances—it’s about building a community. I’d like to introduce:

Quiz nights and themed
Theatre-inspired dinners and other creative socials
