Dear members of the Consultancy Society,
I am Ong Joo Hann, a second-year Biotechnology student running for Case Study Club VP. As an active member since my first year, I have had a fulfilling experience meeting and learning alongside the society’s bright, driven members. Therefore, I would like to continue working with these same members by serving as the VP, to foster this learning environment for both new and returning members, ensuring they gain the same valuable experience I had.
I have attended the case study club sessions and external workshops since my first year, gaining a strong understanding of their structure. Additionally, my experience as a student ambassador has honed my skills in project management, leadership, and communication. I am also working on a personal pro-bono consulting project, gaining real-world experience by providing strategic advice to help a local business drive growth.
As Case Study Club VP, I aim to:
- Hold collaborative sessions.
- Work closely with the Corporate Relations VP to invite external speakers, for expert insights on recruitment and case structuring, leveraging my connections (e.g. Business School consulting employer relations manager)
- Incorporate online sessions to increase accessibility for speakers and members.
- Increase the frequency and productivity of sessions.
- Introduce weekly case practice sessions for consistent learning.
- Share key takeaways and resources on WhatsApp for post-session review.
- Raise attendance and awareness.
- Work closely with Events VP and Secretary to boost awareness using social media and the newsletter.
- Attract members by inviting professional guest speakers from leading firms like MBB.
