Ayesha Ahmed
Hi, I'm Ayesha and I would love the opportunity to be Year 5 Co-ordinator for MedEd. I have a strong passion for teaching and supporting medical education and have been persuing this in a manner of ways over the last 5 years. I have been a consistent tutor to a range of students, have conducted JAS and PotMed teaching sessions and initiated and supported development of PSHE educational changes in schools. These experiences have enabled me to develop strong organisational skills and build a fundamental understanding of the basis needed to provide educational support. Having been consistently teaching for a number of years, I feel that I have now built the skill set to effectively organise the Medical Education support for those in 5th year.
In such a vital year, I would use these skills to ensure that MedEd support for 5th years is well-targeted and well-organised. One of my biggest priorities would be ensuring lecture series and necessary guides and resources are available and planned well in advance to ensure an atmosphere of being strongly supported. I would want to have consistent and open communication with those in 5th year to be certain I am catering to their needs and concerns as a year group. I have had experience in large-scale logistical organisation, having worked on the ICOGS and Meeting of the Minds Conferences this year. These experiences would support my ability to smoothly run the mock PACES and provide the best learning environment possible for the practical exams.
