Serra Yenilmez

Hello everyone! I’m Serra, a first-year Biology student, and I am excited to become the Academic Events Officer.

Through my experience in organizing events and working in leadership roles since high school, I have learned how to bring ideas to life and create engaging, well-structured opportunities for students.

Now, I want to use these skills to:

• Organize student-led study groups to create a more collaborative learning environment where students can support each other academically.
• Continue hosting career-focused events, collaborating with other societies such as Pharmacology to give students insight into various career pathways in research, industry, and healthcare.
• Bridge the gap between biology and business, introducing discussions on biotech startups, entrepreneurship, and the commercial side of scientific research—a field I am particularly passionate about.

I want to make academic events more than just learning opportunities—I want them to be a space where students can connect and collaborate. If elected, I will work with my friends to make these events engaging, impactful, and accessible to everyone.
