Areeba Lalani
Hi! I am Areeba, a second-year Biological Sciences student from Bahrain. I am excited to stand for the role of Academic Events Officer because I am passionate about creating enriching and engaging academic experiences for students. As a logistics team member for this year’s Immunology Society Conference, I curated workshops and coordinated speakers—ensuring that each session, from keynote lectures to panels, delivered valuable insights and discussions. This experience strengthened my ability to organise high-quality academic events, and I want to bring this expertise to the broader student body.
I aim to create engaging, accessible, and impactful academic events that inspire and empower students across disciplines. Well-organised events should foster collaboration, provide networking opportunities, and bridge the gap between theory and real-world application.
What I Will Bring:
-
Strategic Event Planning – Leveraging my logistics experience, I will ensure each event is well-planned, from selecting insightful speakers to curating hands-on workshops tailored to student interests.
-
Expanding Speaker Networks – I will invite renowned professionals and academics from diverse backgrounds to share their expertise, broadening our society’s reach.
-
Interactive & Inclusive Learning – Introducing panels, skill-building sessions, and networking events that encourage participation and learning beyond the classroom.
-
Collaborations & Innovation – Partnering with societies and departments to organize interdisciplinary events, fostering knowledge exchange and fresh perspectives.
I stand for Academic Events Officer because well-structured academic events inspire curiosity, build connections, and enhance learning. Vote for me, Areeba Lalani, and make every event a transformative experience!
