Medical Education: Year 6 Co-ordinator

Hello! I'm Shruti and I'm running for MedEd 6th year coordinator.

MedED has been an invaluable resource throughout my time at medical school, and I want to ensure it continues to support us in our final year with well-organised and structured high-quality teaching, and realistic PACES preparation. If elected, I hope to organise:

  • Structured Year 6 lecture series covering key exam content concisely and effectively, with a focus on offering summary resources to aid with focused revision
  • PACES mock working alongside ICSMSU - with greater focus on high-quality verbal and written feedback, along with a structured mark scheme
  • Small-group mentoring programme to pair final years with F1 doctors - with a focus on very early allocations to enable maximal time for feedback and improvement

I have gained a lot of experience through previously contributing to many MedEd projects, including:

  • Leading the MedEd Y3 written exam crash course series, including organising lectures and the mock exam
  • Facilitating the MedEd Teaching Academy
  • Delivering lectures on the BRS and BSc lecture series, and teaching CPA and OSCE sessions

I have also been involved in various committees as Treasurer, Logistics Officer and Media Officer, developing strong organisational and communication skills.

I understand the demands of final year and want to make revision as smooth as possible. MedED has helped us all throughout medical school, and I’d love the opportunity to give back by ensuring it remains a vital resource in our final year!

Thank you for your time, and I’d love to have your vote!
