Audrey Lai

Hello everyone!

I’m Audrey, a first-year Medical Biosciences with Management student, and I am excited to nominate myself for the role of Secretary in the Soup Run Society. I would be honored to have your vote and support!

During my first Soup Run volunteering, I felt warmly welcomed and enjoyed the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers while giving back to the community. This experience inspired me to contribute my organisational skills to strengthen our society’s community engagement.

With experience leading charity sales to raise funds and volunteering with young refugee children, I have developed strong organisation and communication skills essential for this role. I also developed strong teamwork, time management and attention to detail, which are important qualities when taking meeting minutes as secretary.

If elected as secretary, I aim to suggest events to raise money, enabling us to provide more or higher-quality food to feed those in need. I will work to enhance communications between committee members and with volunteers, ensuring everyone stays connected. Additionally, I propose introducing a termly newsletter to update members on opportunities, increase engagements, and inspire more individuals to join us.

I am passionate about dedicating my time and skills to supporting Soup Run’s mission to address food insecurity and make a positive impact on the community.
