Paphon Susikakosol

Hello! My name is Paphon. I'm studying physics in my third year, and I am standing for Speaker Liaison Officer of Astrosoc.

There has been a decline in talks at Astrosoc, and I would like to reverse that. I pledge to incorporate talks on topics related to astronomy and space science into our stargazing sessions, as a prelude or as a replacement in case the weather turned against us. The talks can be by researchers working in astronomy, or by our members passionate about space.

I will also build relations with the Astrophysics Group and the Space and Atmospheric Physics Group here, using my own connections. Talks by their academic staff can give deeper insights into how modern astronomy research is done, and with me as your speaker liaison officer, there will be more of them!

Lastly, I will cooperate with Physoc on astronomy-related talks. Many of Physoc's talks, lectures, and colloquia are relevant to astronomy, and we can help organise them with Physoc. That way, our members can get front row seats to the latest developments in the field!
