Faduma Hussein

Hi I’m Faduma, a 3rd-year medical student ☺️

I’ve really enjoyed being a part of ICSM Vision for the last two years and would love to continue being involved in the leadership of the society.

Vision is an amazing initiative that has allowed me to work with many schools and organisations across London, such as the Social Mobility Foundation and Imperial Pathways to Medicine, in order to inspire and support students from widening participation backgrounds in applying to medicine.

My previous roles within the society have taught me many skills, such as reaching out to and liaising with different individuals, recruiting volunteers, and promoting events.

It has been incredibly fulfilling for me to work on Roadshow and volunteer at other Vision events, especially when I get to witness directly how our efforts inspire and motivate these students.

I hope to continue working with many of these institutions and schools to further promote diversity and inclusion in medicine.

I believe this role will allow me to make a great impact on future students who may not have access to these programmes otherwise.
