Neuro: Teaching Co-ordinator

Hello! I’m Sandi, a 2nd-year, and I’m excited to be running for the role of Teaching Co-ordinator.

My objectives:

  • Re-introduce our own dedicated neuro tutorials, perhaps collaborating with other societies.
  • Introduce in-advance neuro overviews to ease students into neuro, as it can be overwhelming at first glance. Ok, we barely have time to catch up on work let alone study in advance, but research and many students' experiences, including my own, show that priming (correctly) prior to the learning event significantly deepens understanding while consuming less time. These would be kept short and succinct to only target the foundations - still relevant and enough to grasp the lecture well.
  • Work with other committee members to publish freely-available resources to members.

Why me?

  • Long-term planning - Having tutored for 7 years privately and through a company, I have lots of experience in both working independently and with a team to organise teaching sessions in advance that specifically address students' areas for improvement.
  • Meticulous dedication to education - Honestly, I have spent so much time trying to optimise my study techniques throughout my time at uni so far, so I feel similarly committed to managing a programme that would efficiently deliver a deep understanding about the specialty that I'm truly invested in.
  • Adaptable teaching style and communication - I have worked with students ranging the ages of 3 - 18, following a variety of curricula, so I have been extensively trained to accommodate for different levels of understanding in my explanations.
