Neuro: Teaching Co-ordinator

I've also applied for Head of Neurology and my proposals for teaching co-ordinator are the same, so I'll copy my manifesto.

I want to bring a fresh, engaging, and structured approach to how we learn, research, and connect within this specialty. I've been making YT videos on neuro since I was 8, I'm quite interested in the field.

🔍 Teaching

Understanding neurology can be daunting, but I aim to make it more accessible and engaging:

  • A case-based teaching series covering common neurological conditions with interactive discussions.
  • Practical neuroexamination and stroke management workshops to build clinical confidence.
  • Curated revision guides and OSCE preparation resources tailored to medical students.

🔬 Expanding Research Opportunities

Finding neurology-related research can be overwhelming, so I will:

  • Create a database of research supervisors to simplify project applications.
  • Organize a student-led neurology research showcase to highlight ongoing projects and inspire collaboration.
  • Provide support for abstracts, poster presentations, and funding applications to help students get involved in national conferences.

🤝 Building Networks & Career Prospects

Neurology is competitive, and strong networks matter. I will:

  • Set up a mentorship program linking students with neurology trainees and consultants.
  • Strengthen collaborations with ABN, SBNS, and other universities to increase opportunities for all members.
  • Ensure better visibility of neurology conferences, taster days, and career workshops for those exploring the field.

A lot of stuff, I believe anyone can do it, you just have to be asked, and I believe I am. Vote for me and I'll make some changes to the society.
