Hi everyone, I’m Sudharshan, and I’m running to be your next President of SORA.

SORA is an incredible platform for students to explore research, develop academic interests, and engage with like-minded peers. Having benefited from these opportunities, I want to build upon this foundation and work with you to create an even more enriching experience.

I have had steadfast progression within SORA, starting as a subcommittee member before stepping up as National Conference Lead this year. These roles have given me invaluable experience in planning large-scale events, coordinating teams, and fostering collaborations. Additionally, as Vice-President (Events) of FoMSF, I have developed strong leadership and problem-solving skills that will allow me to guide SORA effectively. My mandatory military service has further strengthened my resilience, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure - qualities crucial for leading a society of this scale.

As President, I will:

Expand Research and Career Development

Launch mentorship schemes and networking sessions to help students connect with faculty and research opportunities
Strengthen ties with external organizations to provide greater exposure
Improve event structures to ensure more interactive learning experiences

Enhance Inclusivity and Engagement

Broaden outreach to engage students from diverse backgrounds
Ensure a fair selection process for subcommittee positions
Actively seek member feedbackto refine events and introduce new initiatives

Foster a Supportive Committee

Organise regular socials to build strong relationships
Promote inter-society collaborations to expand opportunities
