Society of Research and Academia: Treasurer

I am running for (SORA) Treasurer because I am deeply passionate about making research opportunities more accessible to everyone. Having been involved in multiple research projects, from genomic biomarkers in gastric cancer to radiomics in multiphasic HCC imaging, I understand that research is not out of reach—it’s about knowing where to look and how to get involved. As Treasurer, I want to help members navigate the financial and logistical aspects of research, making opportunities like abstract submissions, poster presentations, and publications more accessible and achievable.

I’ve been fortunate to have exposure to various research fields and understand the impact of different types of research, from clinical to translational to computational. I want to ensure that all members feel supported in engaging with research, whether through funding, mentorship, or guidance in navigating the research process. It's about breaking barriers and creating a culture of collaboration. Research doesn’t have to be daunting—it’s about connecting with the right people and having the resources to get started.

Having previously been involved in committee roles—from Head Boy to Sponsorship Secretary for Hindu Society and Treasurer for Imperial Medics Cricket Club—I have gained strong financial management and leadership skills, which will allow me to balance the budget and allocate resources effectively for SORA’s initiatives. I aim to enhance the reach and impact of SORA, creating more opportunities for members to publish, present, and further their academic careers while fostering a supportive, research-driven community.
