Alice Pooley

Hi everyone :) I’m Alice, a 3rd year medic and I’m applying for the position of Right To Play Publicity Officer.

Since being part of ICSM Netball and on the committee this year 2024-2025 as a team captain, I have seen the importance of access to sports and the joy that comes from being part of a team. I am excited at the opportunity to contribute to the committee of Right To Play as it is an important cause that deserves attention.

I’ve always enjoyed volunteering and charity work, my roles have included:

- 1 year + befriending lonely elderly people in my community

- 1 year teddy bear hospital

- 1 year playteam

- 3 years + part-time work for a charity for children with disabilities

Being a captain has furthered my organisational skills and working to deadlines for events etc, and organising large groups via WhatsApp communication. I am confident in promoting on Instagram and in large group chats to spread awareness of events, and always using aesthetic and eye-catching designs in advertising events eg UH curry.

My new role in Halfway Dinner Publicity will give me additional transferable skills for this role, I am excited to commit my next year of university to contributing to the community’s memorable events, raising money and giving back where we can.
