Maurika Vathanan

I am excited to apply for the role of Paediatrics Society Secretary to contribute more actively to a field I am truly passionate about. Having already been involved in the society, through the Play Team and the Conference Subcommittee, I am eager to take on a greater role.

As Secretary, I will ensure smooth communication between committee members, maintaining organised records and liaising effectively with all teams. I have strong experience in coordination, having assisted in the Paediatrics Conference, and I will apply this skill to keep the society running efficiently. I am also comfortable taking minutes at meetings and keeping members informed through clear and timely updates via newsletters, emails, and social media.

Additionally, I have experience in event organisation, having helped at Imperial Tamil Society’s Freshers' Fair, as well as other events such as Meet and Greet and 'Mums and Dads', which prepares me well for organising our society’s freshers’ fair. My background in teamwork spans netball, orchestra, and various subcommittees, making me a reliable and dedicated team player ready to support the committee.

With my organisational skills, teamwork experience, and passion for paediatrics, I believe I am the ideal candidate for Secretary and would love the opportunity to contribute further to the society.
