Nischal Gurung

Hey, I’m Nischal, a second-year medical student with an interest in dermatology and I am excited to be running for publicity officer of DermSoc because I want to make DermSoc's events, resources and opportunities more visible and engaging for all students!

My goals:

• Event Promotion:
  Regularly updating students with sneak peeks about upcoming conferences and events through attention-grabbing DermSoc Instagram posts which feature interactive elements e.g. polls regarding future events, fun dermatology quiz questions and countdowns for conferences
• Increasing Visibility:
  Instagram stories and collaborations with other societies advertising opportunities for students to get involved with networking, talks and teaching sessions to improve exam readiness
• Visually Appealing Media:
  Producing eye-catching and thought-through colour schemes and layouts based on the type of event so members can easily identify DermSoc content and engage with posts relevant to them

Why me:

• With my background being a part of teams in sports, projects, and planning events, I have gained valuable experience collaborating with diverse teams which has helped strengthen my teamwork and communication skills, something which is essential when communicating with other members of the committee and the society
• My strong organisational skills will ensure that members will be well informed about events ahead of time
• My interest in dermatology and resolve to make the society a positive, inclusive environment for all members will allow me to execute the responsibilities required by this role
