General Practice (ICSM): Vice Chair

My name is Yusef, and I am honored to stand as a candidate for the role of Vice president. I am deeply committed to advancing the quality of teaching and opportunities within the GP society.

Summary of aims and objectives:

Create a mentorship programme with senior students/ junior doctors and students to help students develop a more competitive portfolio
Enhance the quality of teaching to include more workshops and personalised teaching, this will help members network better
Promote Volunteering and research opportunities for students by building an extensive network of GP community members and students

My previous experiences have allowed me to develop the skills necessary to co-lead the society and enhance collaboration, including:

Phase 1A academic representive
Vice president of Iraqi society this year
Leader of medsoc at A-Levels

My vision is to lias with all members of the society to create a cohesive team that ensure we continue to enhance the quality of teaching by delivering regular workshops and interactive conferences that allow students to gain a better insight and network. This will be done by introducing a peer-to-peer learning, including study groups and informal meet-ups. We can learn from one another, exchange ideas, and share experiences to grow stronger together.

It is key to introduce a mentorship programme that will help make teaching much more personalised and help guide members to gaining a more competitive portfolio and also increase their network which will inevitably aid in getting significantly more research opportunities.
