Raghul Rajchandar
Hey everyone,
I’m Raghul, and I am excited to be running for Vice Chair of Imperial’s Cardiovascular Society. As a current Oncology Society subcommittee representative, I’ve organised renowned clinicians to present at the Surgical Talk series, liaised with speakers for our national surgical conference as well as moderating the Society’s IMT-led lecture series for preclinical students.
Advertising the National University Respiratory Conference and helping run the International OesophagoGastric Cancer Conference has taught me what makes an event engaging. Co-founding Imperial Polygeia, a global health think tank, has honed my skills in developing opportunities for aspiring cardiologists.
Chairing my school’s Medical Society has given me a profound appreciation for social interactivity, which I aim to incorporate into our Society’s future events; as MedEd’s Phase 1B lecturer, I acknowledge the vital role that mentors play in shaping students’ aspirations, so a monumental emphasis will be placed on building these connections to enrich our members’ Society experience.
As your Vice Chair, I aim to:
- Initiate research-based networking opportunities to connect ardent students with pioneering cardiologists.
- Facilitate interactive workshops on cardiac investigation interpretation and exposure to interventional procedures.
- Set up a public forum that enables students to submit articles on novel advancements and apply essential publication skills.
Vote for me, and above all else I will apply my diverse experiences to act as a strong right hand to the President and a supportive pillar to the committee in its ambitious endeavours, as we stand united by our mutual fascination of the heart. Thank you!
