Obstetrics & Gynaecology: BSc Co-ordinator

Undertaking the Repro BSc myself, I have gained firsthand insight into how valuable help from previous students can be to the overall experience of the BSc. As such, I believe that striving to be the Repro BSc Coordinator is the best way to pay that kindness forward to the next cohort of students.

I have gained and utilised many relevant skills from various roles and experiences. For example, my time as Repro Academic Representative gives me unique insight into the needs of students taking this BSc. Liaising between both staff and students to solve problems and provide them with the support they need, has also refined my effective communication skills.

Furthermore, I regularly employ good time management and organisational skills to organise tutorials for younger years as an OSCE tutor; as well as helping to organise and run events as a hall senior.

As BSc coordinator, I hope to collaborate with the students in the upcoming Repro BSc cohort to offer advice and answer their questions. I would also carry on organising the Repro Buddy system and recorded ICA tutorials (tailored to their needs) as many students in the current year report that they find these extremely useful.

Communicating useful events such as the ICOGS journal club could also help students find ways to build useful skills. In addition, I hope to create starter packs about what to expect from the year and honest information from previous students about different projects and supervisors.
