Paediatrics: Play Coordinator

Hey, I'm Rhea, and I’m running for Play Coordinator of Paediatrics Society! Although I’m new to PaedsSoc, I have always loved working with young people—whether mentoring students in “Get into Medicine” sessions or delivering outreach teaching at local schools. I understand the value of bringing fun, positivity, and creativity into children's lives, especially during challenging times.

My experience in teaching and mentoring has equipped me with strong communication and organizational skills—perfect for managing volunteer teams effectively. Through previous volunteering roles, I've seen the significant impact engaging activities have on children and their families, particularly in clinical settings.

My aims:

  • Organize themed hospital play sessions (e.g., superheroes, space adventures) to brighten young patients' hospital stays.

  • Run regular volunteer training workshops, equipping volunteers with practical skills and emotional resilience.

  • Create specialized sensory play sessions tailored for neurodivergent children to ensure inclusivity.

  • Regularly update and enhance our inventory of toys and activities to remain accessible and enjoyable for all children.

I would love the opportunity to contribute my enthusiasm and creativity to PaedsSoc, making hospital visits brighter for young patients and their families. Vote for me, and let's ensure playtime is the best part of everyone's day!
