Hasan Zaidi

Inspired by Ayushi's recent Surgical Oncology Conference, I would like to develop her ideas further.

As co-chair of the first collaborative conference between Surg Soc and IPRAS (RTS)—hosting 23 surgeons and 82 students over two days—I have first-hand experience in:

✔ Securing speakers, workshop leads, demonstrators, & sponsorships
✔ Booking venues, writing risk assessments and event proposals
✔ Sourcing and transporting surgical materials (including medical meat)
✔ Managing promotions & ticket sales
✔ Handling medical waste disposal

I understand the logistical and strategic challenges of running high-quality events, and I have the skills to overcome them.

My Vision:

1️⃣ Innovating Surgical Simulation – I have experience in developing exciting new surgical simulation models.
2️⃣ Expanding Collaboration – As a committee member of IPRAS and Transplant & Vascular, I advocate for joint events rather than competing ones, furthering impact and ticket sales.
3️⃣ Strengthening OncoSoc's Community – Imperial societies are the envy of the other London medical schools. I expand our connections with other London medical schools - using my experience working on collaborative events with KCL, Barts, and SGUL.
4️⃣ Keeping OncoSoc Fun & Engaging – Often societies hold dry events. I won't.

I hold a strong interest in surgical oncology - If elected, I would like to run more wet workshops, using my experience as T&V Research Officer to get our conference into a publication concerning medical education.
