Oncology: Conference Officer

Hi everyone, we’re Sudharshan and Vaishaanth, and we’re excited to run for Co-Conference Chairs of Oncology Society! We aim to expand opportunities for students to engage with oncology academically and professionally.

Vaishaanth: As Doctorpreneurs President, I’ve grown our society and organised our inaugural conference, securing £700+ in funding. As Oncology Society’s Vice President, I coordinated an ST3-led teaching series for 1st and 2nd years. Previously, as Sponsorship Officer, I secured conference funding. These roles have strengthened my ability to run a successful conference.

Sudharshan: As this year’s Academic Officer and a subcommittee member last year, I’ve gained first-hand experience in organising the conference. My roles as National Conference Lead in SORA and VP (Events) of FoMSF have developed my leadership and administrative skills, including liaising with Union processes.

We aim to expand the conference with:

AI & Innovation in Cancer Care – Exploring AI-driven oncology advancements
Oncology Speed Networking – Connecting students with oncologists and researchers
Oncology Research Poster Competition – Showcasing student research with prizes and mentorship
