Akshara Suresh

With a strong commitment to Teddy Bear Hospital and extensive experience in equipment management, I am eager to take on the role of Equipment Officer with dedication and efficiency.

By volunteering alongside an activity coordinator in a care home, I developed key skills in tracking, managing, and sourcing equipment to ensure resources were always available and in optimal condition. I was responsible for accounting for and replacing damaged equipment, ensuring smooth operations. Additionally, working with children in similar settings strengthened my ability to manage equipment effectively whilst maximising engagement and learning.

Having attended the majority of sessions this year, I have seen firsthand how well-organised equipment contributes to the success of each session and the joy of the children we meet. I fully understand the demands of this role and the importance of ensuring that medical props, T-shirts, and Payal’s costume are always available and in the best condition. I will continue to uphold the high standards already in place whilst bringing further reliability and organisation.

Beyond maintaining current operations, I will work to improve efficiency, particularly in T-shirt distribution and equipment setup, to ensure sessions run seamlessly. Having developed strong teamwork skills as an Anti-Bullying Ambassador, mentor, and Charity Committee member, I look forward to collaborating with the committee to support the society’s continued success.

This role is essential to Teddy Bear Hospital’s impact, and I am excited to contribute further to its meaningful work and the excitement and smiles it brings to every child we meet.
