Hi everyone,

I’m Muhammad, a penultimate year Chemistry student and I will be running for Treasurer of the Imperial Investment society.

My interest in this role stems from a combination of my passion for the finance industry and my desire to apply and develop my financial management skills.

In terms of my vision as treasurer, there are a few key areas I would like to prioritise:

Optimized Budget Allocation – I want to ensure that spending is focused on initiatives that provide the greatest benefit to all of you, including workshops, networking events, and visits from experienced professionals that enhance members’ understanding and potential career prospects.

Expanding interdisciplinary opportunities – I would like to work with the events subcommittee to promote greater collaboration with other academic departments to explore the intersection between investing and cutting-edge fields such as Pharma or MedTech to give members a greater understanding of specialist areas within investing.

Securing funding – As treasurer I would also collaborate closely with the buy-side and sell-side corporate relations teams to keep track of sponsorships and explore any additional revenue streams.

With prior experience in private equity and real estate, I believe I bring a strong financial perspective and strategic mindset. My background has given me experience with budgeting and financial decision-making which are essential skills for managing the society’s resources most effectively.
