Raz Mohd Razlan

Hello! I’m Raz and I’m running for the position of Sponsorship Manager. After attending a few WSET events, I’m inspired by the impact the society has on empowering women in STEM. I would love to contribute to the society, particularly through securing sponsorships that not only support our events but also provide long-term benefits for women pursuing careers in STEM.

One of my key experiences that has equipped me for this role is running a student-led initiative aimed at providing educational support to underprivileged children, where I had to secure funding from various local NGOs and government bodies. This experience allowed me to build relationships with external organisations and develop negotiation skills. I am committed to leveraging these skills to form meaningful connections with potential sponsors that align with WSET's vision.

My goals as Sponsorship Manager are:

• Establishing strategic, long-term partnerships with organisations in STEM fields—particularly biotech, healthcare, engineering, and IT

• Securing partnerships that go beyond financial support and offer professional development opportunities such as internships, mentorship programs, and career fairs

• Working with sponsors to develop workshops, seminars, and networking events that will give our members valuable insights and help them connect with professionals

• Strengthen ties with WSET alumni to open up more mentorship and networking opportunities

I am passionate about increasing female representation in STEM and am confident that my experience in leading projects and securing sponsorships will allow me to bring valuable opportunities to WSET. It would mean a lot to have your vote as Sponsorship Manager! xx
