Xiaoping Lang

Hi everyone! My name is Xiaoping and I am currently a third year physics student. I have been part of the WSET society for two years and I have had to privilege to enjoy many wonderful events organised by the society. This has allowed me to be familiarised with the events WSET hosts, and I would like to be on the committee to deliver these events and ensure you have a positive experience with WSET society. Here is what I have planned if I get to become the Sponsorship Manager:

• maintaining the working relationship with existing sponsors and explore more potential opportunities they might have to offer to our members
• continuing the current annual big networking events with employers and sponsers such as the Annual Networking and IWD Dinner, with an expaned number and range of sponsers
• organise more exclusive events with sponsors from various sectors including office visits, insight days, panels and workshops, as well as social and networking events
• increase the variety of sponsors and partnerships, for example, getting research facilities and institutions as well as corporates and companies
• reach out to companies in sectors that lack a representation of women
• run collaboration with other societies such as Woman in Business, Finance, Consultancy, Investment, etc., as well as departmental societies that focus on representation of female representation and gender diversity
