As a performer in four MNight divisions – Vocals, Dikir Barat, Chinese Traditional Dance and Bollywood Dance – I have realised how much I love inspiring happiness within the community. This passion has driven me to search for more ways to spread positivity. What better way to do so than by serving as Welfare Officer?
As your Welfare Officer, I will introduce the following initiatives to enhance well-being, inclusivity, and engagement within ICUMS:
Buddy Family System:
1. Anonymous Interaction Period
Within this period, children and parents communicate by letter (or email) without knowing their identities. This ensures no bias and prejudice in communications.
2. Transparent Point System
Buddy families’ ranking will be updated monthly in group chat.
3. Parents’ Benefits
More care packages and quota for giveaway.
Well-being:
1. Monthly Well-Being Events
Lists of well-being events will be sent out every month. New initiatives such as tickets giveaway, free breakfast, birthday celebrations will be organised. Low-commitment subcommittee for individual events will be available for you to gain experience!
2. Collect Timetables with Deadlines and Exams Date of All Courses
Now with your timetables, I will ensure events are scheduled on the most accessible days for you!
Freshers:
1. Course-Oriented Sessions in Freshers’ Camp
Seniors from your course will join the freshers’ camp, ensuring a smooth transition from college to university.
2. Post-Departure Initiatives for Freshers
Airport pick-ups, campus tour and public transport guides will be arranged to assure freshers feel supported from day one.
