Rena Matsuoka

Hi, I am Rena from First Year Biochemistry! My special interest is genetic engineering of plants, and I've been coming to the SynBic events since the beginning of the year. I love how we, at SynBic, get a glimpse of what scientists at Imperial are working on and how our studies are incorporated into reality as products. As an events officer, I would love to contribute to keeping the society lively by organising talks and activities. I am keen on increasing the interaction between the attendees, especially between undergraduates and people in further studies, so that the undergraduates get a feeling of what is it like to be in such positions. I will dedicate a portion of my week to plan events with the other committee members so that SynBic stays an intellectually stimulating and social place.
