Hi! I’m Tiffany, a BSc Biological Sciences student interested in communication and connecting with people from different backgrounds through their native language! (also a fan of art & design - making all things aesthetically pleasing)
Many students may lack a clear grasp of synthetic biology. Having participated in the biggest SynBio competition: iGEM, I want to share my insights, showcasing how this field can become a favourite application of bioscience for many. My main goal as your Promotion Officer is to increase awareness and understanding of synthetic biology among students within and outside of SynBIC, boosting engagement in competitions like iGEM and our conferences.
I believe that the Promotion Officer's role is important for educational outreach and event promotion, requiring effective communication with SynBIC’s leadership and the broader student community. This would require experience in leadership and communication (check out my LinkedIn for more!):

- Social media marketing & video promotion lead of my high school iGEM team
- President of my high school's Science Society and Japanese Culture & Anime Society
- Founder of a trilingual social media channel promoting women in STEM globally
- TEDx translator
Apart from promoting interactive workshops and seminars featuring guest speakers from academia and industry, I aim to create buzz with social media, collaborating with Imperial's faculty, students, and guest speakers. I hope to achieve this by bringing in my communications, design, and video promotion skills, doing my best to promote SynBIC!
