Chemistry: Industrial Relations Officer

Hi! I’m Caitlin, a first-year chemist from Hong Kong.

Throughout first to final year, thinking about your career IS intimidating! Whether you are set on research, going into industry, or have no idea at all - I am here to help.

I strongly value the importance of networking and connections, but most importantly, ensuring that these opportunities are accessible for all students. As your industrial relations officer, I hope to establish strong industrial relations to bring options to all chemists, whilst bringing our incredible skills and passion to these industry professionals.

With three years of experience as a Higher Education ambassador, I have organized inter-school career fairs, networking with a diverse range of industries and career experts (forensic chemists, quants, singers, you name it) to cater to the expansive interests of students. An open mind is crucial to bring fresh, even unexpected industry insights, internships, and jobs to you, and that's exactly what I offer. Through my experience, I have honed my leadership, teamwork and communication skills to be an effective committee member.

Introduce ties + careers with various destinations, ever thought of going elsewhere than the UK?
