Sports & Exercise Medicine: Co-chair

As a second-year medical student passionate about sports and exercise medicine, I am excited to run for Co-Chair of Sports and Exercise Medicine, alongside Akshat, who shares my enthusiasm and brings invaluable experience as a member of the IC badminton first team. I am also part of the IC cricket first team as well as having the role of social secretary. Together, Akshat and I are committed to bringing our hands-on experiences into our roles as Co-Chairs.

Our vision is to promote sports and exercise medicine which is heavily underepresented by our curriculum by prioritizing practical, hands-on learning. We will focus on organizing conferences, workshops, and events that emphasize the application of skills such as injury prevention, diagnosis, and rehabilitation. These events will be designed to give students the opportunity to engage with professionals, learn practical techniques, and understand the real-world applications of sports medicine.

By collaborating with sports clubs, doctors, physiotherapists, and other experts, we aim to create events that are not only educational but also provide real-world insights into managing injuries, optimizing performance, and promoting health in athletes. We believe this exposure is key in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals in the field of sports medicine.

Additionally, we will raise awareness about the exciting opportunities to specialize in sports and exercise medicine, helping students discover this rewarding career path.
