Dermatology (ICSM): Academic Officer

Hi everyone, I’m Saba, a 4th-year medic who’s recently become more interested in dermatology, and I’d love the opportunity to be Academic Officer this year

Dermatology is a varied yet often underrepresented specialty (more than just skincare!) and I want to help make it more accessible to students at all stages. If elected, I will:

• Organise more dermatology-focused tutorials, particularly for early-year students who often find the content challenging and difficult to get through.

• Expand teaching opportunities, building on my experience delivering dermatology tutorials through MM, which received great feedback.

• Plan an ICSM DermSoc Conference, showcasing the diverse career paths within dermatology and providing valuable insights from experts.

I’m excited to bring fresh ideas to the committee and ensure that everyone interested in derm—whether casually or seriously—has the resources and support they need.
