Thilaksana Thavaranjan

Hello everyone! I am Thilaksana Thavaranjan, a fourth-year medical student interested in the ICSM Endocrinology society and would love to take on the role as a secretary.

Volunteering as a mock examiner for MMIs (PotMED, ICSM Vision & NCS) and CPAs (MedEd) has enhanced my interpersonal and problem-solving skills, which will both help me liaise with faculty members and prospective BSc students. Have volunteered under ICSM Vision and have seen how organised they are.

Tutoring for an MMI workshop at the London-wide Paediatrics Conference and clinical skills session (Muslim Medics) has boosted my confidence in communicating with people of all levels.

With the experience of recording meeting minutes for my group work in iBSc, I would be able to employ it for this society as well. I am quite punctual, enabling me to reply to emails promptly with a high standard of professionalism.

Aims:

• Timely and effective dissemination of information to all members, including regular email updates and social media announcements.

• Increase membership engagement and participation in societal activities through organizing social gatherings and networking events.

• Assist in the distribution of a monthly newsletter to keep society members informed and engaged.

• Work closely with other student societies to foster collaboration and build strong relationships to coordinate joint events.

• Clear agendas for meetings set in advance and prompt follow-up with minutes and action points after the meetings.

I am passionate about the opportunity to serve our society by providing strong administrative support and helping our group operate smoothly.
