Ananya Jain

Hi! I’m Ananya and I would love to be the Year 5 Academic Officer of Obstetrics & Gynaecology society this year! As a fifth year, I have come to understand how overwhelming it can be, with its complex pathologies and diverse clinical presentations. From managing antenatal care to handling obstetric emergencies, the learning curve can be steep; however, comprehensive tutorials and provision of high-yield resources can make all the difference. As someone who has both an interest in O&G and teaching, I believe that with this role I can help ensure future 5^th years feel prepared going into their placement and exams.

So why should you vote for me as academic officer?

Having been a lead for the Surgical Society JAS phase 1a series, Anatomy mocks and Pharmacology society Year 2 lecture series, I have experience in organising and promoting tutorials. I love collaborating with others and you can trust me to be punctual for all deadlines. Furthermore, having delivered society lectures myself, I am familiar with the resources lecturers require and will therefore be able to provide them as needed.

If elected, I would strive to…

1. Maintain our ongoing collaboration with the Paediatrics, Psychiatry and GP societies to effectively produce accessible, high-yield resources for Yr 5 exams.
2. Create flashcard sets containing examinable information about each O&G condition on SOFIA.
3. Raise awareness of tutorials across all social media platforms including WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook.
