Abirame Sritharan
Hi everyone! My name is Abirame, and I would love to be one of your Co-Conference Chairs for 2025.
Having been part of the subcommittee that organised the ICOGS Conference this year, I have gained valuable insight into how the event runs and would love the opportunity to take on the challenge of leading it next year. Additionally, my experience in organising multiple conferences through various subcommittees has equipped me with transferable skillsthat would be invaluable in this role.
I have also held various committee positions across different societies, demonstrating strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities. As Vice-President of the International Tamil Society, I was part of the team that successfully organised a cultural showcase for 1,500+ people. This experience strengthened my leadership and ability to make effective decisions under pressure, both of which are essential for running a large-scale event like the ICOGS Conference.
I also served as a General Executive for the Surgical Society, where I gained experience in running my own events. This involved organising speakers and workshops, both of which are key elements of a successful conference. Through this, I have developed the ability to efficiently manage administrative planning, speaker coordination, and on-the-day logistics.
As Co-Conference Chair, I aim to build on the success of this year’s conference while bringing in new ideas to ensure it remains an engaging event.
I would be honoured to take on this role and would love your support!
