Sudharshan Palaniappa
Hi everyone! My name is Sudharshan, and I am a third-year medical student who is excited to be running for the position of Head of Research and Education in Cardiovascular Society.
My interest in cardiovascular medicine stems from its vital role in healthcare and its ever-evolving research landscape. As someone who also understands the importance of research in contributing to the future of healthcare and has been actively engaged in research projects, I am keen on taking up this position within CardioSoc.
If elected, my primary goal is to enhance research accessibility and educational opportunities for all members. I plan to:
- Expand research opportunitiesby connecting students with faculty mentors and ongoing cardiovascular projects
- Organise journal clubs and research workshops to improve critical appraisal skills and foster academic discussion
- Develop teaching sessionswith experts to deepen understanding of cardiovascular disease management
- Run a teaching series for each year group to cover relevant cardiovascular topics
Over the past few years, I have held leadership roles in multiple other societies within Imperial where I helped plan large-scale conferences and organised academic initiatives such as speaker series, research networking events, and journal clubs. These have helped students gain deeper insights into the respective fields.
I am passionate about making research and education in cardiovascular medicine more engaging and accessible for students at all levels. I would love the opportunity to serve as your Head of Research and Education and contribute to the society’s growth.
Please consider casting your vote for me, thank you!
