Zirong Song

Hi everyone. My name is Zirong Song, a third-year medical student running for Cardiovascular y1/y2 rep!

I have always been eager to arrange teaching tutorials on cardiovascular health and I admire the ongoing efforts this year of arranging the cardio-connect event and conference in March. However, I want to extend this further by providing more tutorials - which there has been a lack of academic support for y1/2 students when it comes to CPA and BRS teachings.

Hence, I would like to offer opportunities in:

• Continuing event similar to Cardio-connect, arranging for passionate clinicians and researchers to give talks on career/training pathways and latest innovation in the industry
• Introducing new events (workshops, seminars, lectures) which cover relevant clinical skills to help in Cardiovascular
• CPA training and knowledge for CV station questions
• Introducing teaching sessions for y1/2 BRS
• Establishing work experience opportunities with cardiologists or cardiothoracic surgeons

I will happily take on any feedback, advice and suggestions for other activities you would like and ensure it reflects your needs and interests.

I have been the academic chair and officer for Haematology society and Pharmacology society where I have been arranging numerous tutorials for y1/y2 students so I have many experience in arranging social outreach programmes and tutorials. I am confident that my teamwork skills and dedication would prepare me for the responsibilities and demands tied to this role.
