Hello everyone, I'm Josh and I will be running for AMSA social secretary :)

I believe at the heart of any big society are the social events and the sense of community that comes with it. With medicine being such a long course and students being at many different levels in their journey, l've found AMSA socials to be such a good opportunity to meet and talk with new people who would go on to become friends and great mentors.

So what would I like to continue this coming year? I really enjoyed the AMSA family outings last year, and I would like to continue that moving into next year. Since families are a much smaller group, I would be able to help parents organise smaller activities more often and maybe collab with other families. Some suggestions I had were potluck and karaoke.

What are some ideas I have to implement in the future? Two fun, chill activities that I am a big fan are bowling and mini golf. I think these would be great, low intensity activities where its easy to meet and talk to new people but can also have a friendly competition with your friends.

As an events prefect for two years, I have experience organising fun, cost effective events and managing large groups of people so that as many people as possible are able to take part. I am very dedicated and will give my all to make AMSA an inclusive, fun society.
