Hi, I'm Ayesha and I would love the opportunity to be Treasurer for Plastic Surgery Society. Plastic Surgery Society is a highly exciting and effective avenue for persuing this specialty whilst in Medical School - whether it is for those who are focused on the career or those with an interest in the subject itself. With the broad range of opportunities that this society offers, ensuring effective and candid use of funds is fundamental to ensuring that this society offers as many excellent opportunities for those passionate about Plastic surgery as possible.
Last year, I raised £1,500 for Refugee Action and the Ajyal Foundation. This experience gave me skills in managing money and organisation. When working as a Sales Associate at the company Prodigy, I gained insight into how financial planning is fundamental in any venture, and how to manage financials in order to optimise outcomes without compromising stability and security. I also learnt fundamental skills of teamwork and how to manage different financial expectations within a certain project. As treasurer, I would endeavour to utilise these skills to the best of my ability to allow Plastics Society to consistently provide top-tier opportunities for students whilst providing financial longevity for future years, alongside cohesive teamwork.
I would ensure that funds are allocated with utmost transparency and integrity in order to foster an atmosphere of support and teamwork within the society, emphasising our goal as a society in supporting each other to the best of our ability.
