Medical research isn’t just about finding answers—it’s about asking the right questions. As a second-year medical student with a strong interest in clinical genetics, I am excited to apply for the role of Research Officer. My goal is to foster curiosity and engagement in research among all members of the society.
If elected, I will work to connect students with exciting research opportunities by collaborating with experts and sharing available projects. I plan to organize events that highlight the intersection of genetics and cutting-edge medical technology, bringing in speakers to showcase how research translates into real-world innovation. Additionally, I aim to establish research competitions in collaboration with other institutions to encourage students to present their work and gain recognition. I also hope to host workshops focused on quality improvement and audits, equipping students with the skills to conduct their own projects during placements.
Having conducted research into CRISPR, I understand how transformative genetic research can be. I am passionate about bridging the gap between scientific discovery and public awareness, and I want to empower students to communicate their findings effectively, ensuring that research has a meaningful impact beyond academic circles.
Many questions in clinical genetics remain unanswered, and I am excited about the prospect of exploring them together. If you share this curiosity, I would be grateful for your support.
