Mia Cameron

Hello! My name is Mia, and I am running for the position of External Liaison Officer for the Genetics Club. I am deeply passionate about genetics, research, and building meaningful connections.

Genetics was the first area of medicine that truly captivated me. I believe it is the foundation of every specialty, and yet so much of it remains unexplored, with exciting research avenues emerging every day. One of the most thrilling developments in the field is the increasing use of genetic markers in cancer treatment and personalized medicine. This is incredibly important for future scientists, regardless of the specialty they pursue.

Throughout my time with RAG and the Fashion Show, I’ve gained valuable experience organizing events and speaking with a wide range of people. These roles have helped me develop strong communication, coordination, and networking skills, all of which will be vital in establishing and maintaining connections with external organizations, researchers, and professionals in genetics. As External Liaison Officer, I will work to create lasting partnerships that bring new opportunities to the Genetics Club, such as guest lectures, workshops, and potential research opportunities.
